JHP's Double Play

In recognizing her achievements and unflagging devotion providing 1000s of students with links to their heritage through JHP, Alexis Biebelberg has been appointed JHP Fellow at Binghamton, in addition to being JHP Fellow at Temple.

Alexis has for most of her tenure at JHP played a double role as Fellow, traveling continuously between two campuses and achieving similar results on both.

Alexis was involved with JHP through her entire college years at Temple. Alexis was quickly inspired by JHP & noticed how JHP inspired other students & she wanted to be part of that. She started as a JHP intern during her freshman year and then became lead intern in her sophomore year.

After graduating from Temple in 2006, majoring in Jewish Studies with a minor in Religion, Alexis Biebelberg accepted the position of JHP Fellow at Delaware. In less than a year she brought in 137 new students to JHP bringing the total number of students reached by JHP activities at Delaware to 2021, a grand achievement.

Due to her success at Delaware, being a JHP Temple alumnus and her unwavering desire to contribute much more, Alexis last year was also appointed to JHP Fellow at Temple. Alexis has been traveling to & from both campuses achieving similar results. 100s of new students at Temple were introduced to JHP via Shabbos dinners, Mitzvah observance, Jewish studies, social activities and community service events.

In her double role, Alexis initiated parent Shabbat dinners where parents witnessed in delight the effectiveness of JHP in their children enjoying Yiddishkeit and connecting to their Jewish roots. She held uniquely themed Shabbat dinners, Mezuzah making, community service events & an incredible retreat "sailing up the Saint Lawrence" via bus to LA Centre-Ville Inn in Montreal for JHP's annual learning & leadership retreat. Newly added agenda also included giving out Pesach packages filled with holiday goodies & Matzoh to the students who remained on campus so that they can perform the holiday Mitzvahs of Passover.

As this wondering Jew brings Yiddishkeit to students throughout these campuses, we can only marvel at her unwavering dedication to JHP and to the Jewish community at large.

We at JHP are thrilled that Alexis has accepted the assignment and are positive that with Alexis as Fellow, continuing JHP's effectiveness on campus, great things are to come at Binghamton.

"I love being Jewish and JHP makes me feel that I have a job that allows me to give back to the Jewish community. I feel proud telling people what I do and great when students get excited about being Jewish and wanting to be involved in JHP programs." - Alexis Biebelberg, JHP Fellow
