Ron Dermer, Israel's Minister of Economic Affairs at JBN
Tuesday, April 29th, at JBN's Monthly Power Luncheon, Ron Dermer, Israel's Minister of Economic Affairs in the U.S. & author of best seller, The Case for Democracy: the Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny & Terror, who also was instrumental in the formation of Jewish Heritage Programs, addressed the crowd of Jewish business professionals at Temple Center City Campus in Philadelphia.
Ron talked about the Israeli economy & how it has improved over the years & how optimistic he is over the long term. He suggested that because of Israel's strong economic growth people should invest in Israeli businesses, particularly high tech industries for future gains.
After the luncheon Ron traveled to Huntsman Hall on Penn's campus & spoke to a group of Wharton MBAs & undergrads. Rabbi Ephraim Levin, JHP/Lubavitch Rabbi at Penn introduced Len Lodish, the Dean of Wharton West, a branch of Wharton School of Business on the West Coast & Professor of Marketing who in turn introduced Ron Dermer. Ron's topics were similar to his address at JBN covering the development & progress that the Israel economy underwent in the last five years.
Ron then ended his tour by attending a Penn senior send off dinner at the home of JHP/Lubavitch House. There he spoke more on the unique roll of Israel for present & future generations.
"There is no country in the world that has more brain power than Israel." - Ron Dermer at the JBN Luncheon

Flora Levin, assisted by Lindsay Teich, JHP Fellow at Penn, created a Spa Day at JHP for female Penn students Wednesday, April 30th at the JHP/Lubavitch House. - A relaxing get - together with the girls in a spa atmosphere connecting the body, mind & soul to the spiritual. -
Flora revealed concepts such as G-d calling a soul's mission on earth to bring light into the world. She also spoke about the connection of prayer & body. To enlighten the atmosphere, massages & manicures were performed for the girls by professionals. This was a great relaxation experience prior to final exams next week.
