Making a Difference That Matters: Jonathan Kanze
Jonathan, active in JHP for 12 years since his college days, becoming a board member of JBN, linking Jews together & to their heritage, has yearned to make a difference that will matter. The following, according to Jonathan is it so far, stopping bullets, guaranteeing Jewish life another day & more to come.
Jonathan's brainchild is a series of fundraising events so powerful as to save lives. The first of these events will take place on May 6th, "Lag B'Omer Paint Ball" for the IDF. Attendees will wear layered clothing or fatigues & join in to play a spirited came of paintball.
The goal is to raise $5000 or more to buy bulletproof vests at $1200 ea. for the one of the most dangerous units of the Israeli army. These soldiers of the IDF are front line scouts, going in first to find targets for tanks & the Israeli Air force. They are shot at & their lives are on the line. They do not have enough bulletproof vests to go around. Supplying these vests will save lives, Jewish fathers, sons!
"Being involved in JHP for 12 years has provided me the opportunity to stay involved, contributing in heartfelt Jewish causes & I have also got plenty of business by being active in this organization & networking through JBN." - Jonathan Kanze, U of Pitt '98

JHP Ignites the Jewish Spark in Two Coeds To Have Bat Mitzvah
The Jewish roots & heritage of Laura Prince were strongly awakened and roused by JHP during her tenure as a lead intern at Delaware to bring her to Bat Mitzvah with Rav Sneiderman at the Chabad House on campus last week at the age of 21.
The same week, Rita Vinnick, a 19 year old JHP lead intern at Binghamton had a Bat Mitzvah party for JHPers & her friends. Incidentally, David Schneid, JHP Fellow at Binghamton went to high school with both Laura & Rita. We are all connected!
"It was a real honor to get Bat Mitzvahed. I really have to thank JHP for giving me that opportunity & support." - Laura Prince, JHP lead intern, Delaware
