Pesach Packages for Students at Delaware

Alexis Biebelberg & her dedicated JHP interns who incidentally include 20 freshmen held a Chinese Shabbat dinner last week. In addition to this event introducing new freshmen to JHP, Alexis & her crew performed a Mitzvah by giving out Pesach packages filled with holiday goodies & Matzoh to the students who will remain on campus so that they can perform the holiday Mitzvahs of Passover.

Mitzvah Week at Penn

In front of Houston Hall on Penn's campus, on a beautiful last Tuesday, as part of Mitzvah Week, 400 students throughout the day took part in making 2000 PB & J sandwiches for St. John's Hospice in Philadelphia for the homeless. These sandwiches were delivered the same day

Prior to PB & J Day, on Monday at the JHP intern meeting at Penn, performing another Mitzvah, Lindsay Teich & her group of interns made & distributed Pesach greeting cards for Friendship Circle, a group dedicated to helping children with disabilities. These greeting cards will be delivered prior to Pesach

JBN Raises Money for Sderot

The sister organization of JHP, JBN was out in full force this past weekend performing Mitzvahs preceding Pesach. The first event was held at the OCJAC. Joel Frisch, an ardent board member of JBN & active in JHP, attracted new members to the fold by tending bar for the event. JBN provides ever increasing network opportunities for young Jewish professionals in the Philadelphia & the New York City areas.

The second event kicked off Sunday at 10AM & lasted until 5PM at Poco Loco Paintball Field in Eagleville, PA. The event raised money & awareness of the recent activities in the Israeli town of Sderot.

Paintball is a game developed in the 1980s that soon became popular worldwide. Players shoot pellets of paint from airguns at opposing players in strategic game scenarios vying for survival. Most games are played outdoors in special paintball fields. The equipment for the game includes a specially designed airgun, paintballs, carbon dioxide cartridges to expel the paintball, and safety goggles. Besides raising money for Sderot, the paintball builds team spirit & communication between players, furthering the common cause of JHP & JBN.

We at JHP wish you & your family a happy, healthy & wonderful Pesach!
