Learnin' Lunch with Levi
To further explore their Jewish connection, excite with brio & enlighten their
respective students with Torah, JHP Fellows, Lindsay Teich (Penn) & Alexis Biebelberg (Delaware & Temple) have on their own initiative formed a weekly Jewish learning lunch with JHP/Chabad Rabbi Levi Haskelevich.
The first learning session is scheduled for Thursday, February 21st. As they become more knowledgeable in Jewish thought, precepts & Torah they will be able to reflect, in ways that students will relate to, their learning to those in attendance at all JHP programs & events on & off campus.
-- Another illustration of how JHP spreads its wellsprings illuminating students at all events with Jewish content connecting to their Jewish roots.--
Chai Club Formed in Support of JHP
Another outgrowth of JHP spreading its wellsprings, in the words of Joel Frisch, JBN board member....
"At the last JBN Monthly Power Lunch, we introduced the exciting new Chai Club. Immediately upon presentation eight people signed up."
"The Chai Club is an opportunity for everyone to give a little effort to help support all of the great programs that keep the Jewish Heritage Programs improving the lives of Jewish college students every semester."
"To become a part of the Chai Club, all you have to do is sign-up to have $18 /month charged to your credit card. Everyone can donate $18/month, whether it means skipping a few cocktails, or not ordering pizza one night a month!"
"The power in this club is in the numbers. The more people we get involved the stronger we will be and the more successful the Chai Club will become....So come on in, the water's nice....sign up today, its only $18 a month. Oh... and spread the word!!!!!"

Q. How Do You All Know Each Other? A. JHP
As another outgrowth of JHP spreading its wellsprings, in collaboration, a Jewish book club was formed by Lindsay Teich, JHP Fellow, George Shotz, JBN board member,
Rebecca Kaufman, JHP Alumnus & JHP's illustrious Jennifer Birch.
The first meeting was held last week & per Jennifer, "We really went big at our first meeting by having the author, whose novel was recognized as one of the top 100 books of 2007 by the New York Times, join our discussion." The book reviewed was Matrimony by Joshua Henkin.
This club's purpose is to bring young Jewish professionals who have a common ground together & expand their horizons socially, Jewishly & intellectually.
In addition to Jennifer's Rat Pack, through JHP's friend to friend approach other interested Jews attended the opening of the new Jewish Book of the Month Club, which, due to a capacity crowd, is now closed for membership.
When Joshua asked, "How do you all know each other?" the crowd answered in unison, JHP. |
