News Flashes for the Week

Human Bingo….at NYU

50 students, 25 new people, attended an Open House. While eating Israeli food, falafel and baklava, an innovative ice breaker, Human Bingo, was played by all. Jewish themes such as… Had a Bar Mitzvah, Keep Kosher, Visit Israel, Speak Hebrew, Know 2 Rabbis, etc. occupied Bingo squares. JHP interns went around the room asking new students if they had any of the experiences listed, then checked them off. The winners had to fill in a line of squares. This was a great way to meet new people and introduce them to JHP and its programs.

JHP- A Deeper Look

Social interaction is very much a part of JHP. Through social interaction and a peer to peer approach, JHP is able to reach many more unaffiliated students, linking them to their glorious heritage. In this approach, JHP seeks out social leaders on campus, those who are involved with Greek affiliations, extracurricular activities, student government, journalism, athletics and honor societies to be JHP interns. JHP also looks for a varied group consisting of diverse sections of academic pursuits and personal interests and ones who serve as positive role models for Jewish identity among their peers.
